Ms. Patricia Morris, an attorney and animal enthusiast, is the managing member of The Law Offices of Patricia Morris, PLLC. She is licensed to practice law in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, in the state and federal courts. Attorney Morris' principal practice areas include animal law and equine law in business law, contract drafting, and civil litigation. Formerly corporate counsel for a large corporation, Attorney Morris handled multi-million dollar purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, tax appeals, real estate transactions, and environmental matters. However, as a result of her passion for animals, Attorney Morris launched her own law practice in 2007 to include animal law and equine law. Now she provides timely, competent, and cost-effective legal services to businesses, animal owners, and animal lovers. Cases are taken on an hourly, project, or contingency basis, depending upon the client's needs.
Attorney Morris is a long time resident of New Hampshire. She graduated from U.N.H. Durham with her bachelor of arts in economics and earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. Currently, she serves on the board of directors for NH DART (Disaster Animal Response Team). In May 2008, Governor Lynch appointed her to the Governor's Commission for the Humane Treatment of Animals; she became the chair of the commission in 2009. She is also a professor of law at UNH Law, teaching animal law, an upper-level law course.
She is a member of numerous animal and legal organizations and understands the complex issues that arise in animal law. She has practiced animal law and equine law exclusively for the past 6 years. She attends the National Equine Law Conference, held in Lexington, Kentucky, annually and has written several articles on equine and animal law (American Bar Association and Best Friends). She spends her free time enjoying her family of four horses, dogs, and cats at her farm in Center Barnstead, New Hampshire.
